Growing your startup at the High-Tech SeedLab accelerator program has many advantages which include a monthly equity free stipend, workshops, tailored coaching and access to a coworking space (once COVID calms down a bit). Another major perk in our program is that you are not in it alone but surrounded by a group of highly motivated, smart people aiming to lift their business idea off the ground.
The focus of our program is not only to individually support the founding teams but to also build a community of sharp-minded entrepreneurs. We previously covered the emphasis on peer support in the High-Tech SeedLab’s acceleration program in our blog article here.
Now let’s take a closer look at how we promote peer support within our accelerator program:
Remote coffee catch-ups
Since COVID numbers are still pretty high our accelerator program exclusively takes place remotely at the moment. But we all know that sitting alone at your desk at home can feel a bit unproductive and lonely which is why we are introducing a format called “Coffee Catch-ups” for our cohort 2021. You can think of it as blind dates between participants of the High-Tech SeedLab. Using the Donut app on Slack, people get randomly paired and invited to meet for a virtual coffee at a specific time. The format introduces participants who might not know each other yet and is a good starting point for future collaborations.
Skillsharing
With 21 startup founders in our current cohort, we are proud to welcome a diverse group of sharp-minded people with a broad range of professional backgrounds. In entrepreneurship, nothing comes more naturally than sharing ideas and genuinely learning from others (aka peer support). Connecting with like-minded individuals is as important as formal textbook education.
Skillsharing means teaching and learning skills from others. So if you’re, for instance, struggling with web design, it is very likely that one in 20 other founders of our cohort is a master in the field (or at least knows a lot more than you currently do) and would be happy to help you out.
We highly encourage our founders to ask for help and support each other. After all, there is no shame in not knowing. The shame lies in not finding out.
5 Hacks for ...
The High-Tech SeedLab’s 10-month acceleration program is designed to help early-stage teams to test their idea and business model, build or finalise a minimum viable product, and successfully launch their business. Our startups are active in the fields of high-tech, sustainability and women in tech.
